Tiger MCs

"Has more than a hint of indie folk magic about his Shins-esque balladry." (God is in the TV)

Cherryade is proud to present its latest signing, much-loved Norwich hero Tiger MCs.

After an appearance in the NME and a number of plays on BBC Radio 1 courtesy of Huw Stephens, as well as appearing on a number of compilations including Cherryade’s first festive compilation A Very Cherry Christmas, JB has teamed up with fellow Norwich musicians at the legendary Sickroom Studios to record a strikingly beautiful debut album, fragile and poised, heartbreaking and hopeful. The upcoming We Go Out CD album is an essential listen for anyone who likes their music with real heart and genuine dreamy pop sensibilities. This album takes JB’s mesmerising solo sound and adds subtle colour and depth without taking anything away from the unique and poignant music and lyrics which make Tiger MCs such an intriguing, moving and delightful listen.

Tiger MCs began playing live in 2002 as a side-project and antithesis to JB's noise-drenched, epic mid-fi band Postalowa. Gradually developing a sound typified by concise, energetic guitar playing and rambling half-sentences for lyrics, Tiger MCs released several tracks on Norwich-based label Metal Queen Projects, culminating in the 20-minute, 11-song EP 'Piston-Pawed' in 2005. We Go Out is the result of the first time JB has invited other players to be involved with Tiger MCs – members of Magoo, Giant Robot and the City of Tokyo, Alto 45 and Little Who all appear on the record.

Tiger MCs tans well and has a tufty beard. To find out more about the wonderful world of Tiger MCs visit www.myspace.com/tigermcs.
