Magic 8
Biography:
Magic8 are Polly (vocals), Adie (guitar and production), Leon (guitar), and Tom (bass). Since forming in London, weve played at London Design Week, The Camden Barfly, The Rhythm Factory, The Luminaire, Water Rats, The Bull & Gate, Betsey Trotwood, Rendition, On the Rocks, Colours, The Old Blue Last, the Brixton Windmill and also as support band for The Duke Spirit at the Astoria.
Our song, 2 of One was featured on XFM, and Battleships was recently played by Rob da Bank on Radio 1. We played in the Lee Jeans unsigned tour last summer and were also featured in the top 20 unsigned acts on www.ukmusicsearch.co.uk.
More details of the band, including download tracks, are available at www.magic-8.com A selection of reviews are also available on the site, including these:
Strident, a brisk new-wave like gait with intricate and filmy guitar work at the core of their verve. Pollys vocals have more than a touch of Debbie Harrys classic cool, indeed their pop music (skewed, but not obstinately so) is so handsomely self-assured, they dont need the shades and tacked on aloofness to tell their rock n roll story." Vanity Project - 2005 Blending some of the best off kilter guitar riffs this side of the Pixies, a cool robotic rhythm section and the icy cool vocals of Polly, lying somewhere between Justine Frischmann, Alison Goldfrapp and Kim Deal. Magic 8 are a band to adore you should take them to your heart and cherish them" Mike - UKmusicsearch

Miss the Occupier
Biography:
Miss The Occupier are a Glasgow based three-piece operating on the belief that less is more, delivering a tight, punchy sound with a punky edge. The songs come from a shared background of Glasgow lo-fi and American DIY, a Sonic Youth meets Huggy Bear. Roz sings and plays bass, Magnus sings and plays guitar, Derek thrashes away in the background, keeping everything together. Their first single will be out in April, a split seven inch on Skribble records with Freezerburn. Their track External Male has been receiving airplay from Steve Lamacq, Vic Galloway, Jim Gellatly and on countless podcasts and online stations including the Tartanpodcast and Radio Magnetic. They played their first London date on Valentine's day 2006 for Artrocker, supporting the Grates.

My favourite
Mynx
Biography:
Mynx are an L.A. based duo (occasionally joined by Joel on drums. They are called Holly and Ara and their self-styled ‘alternative pop music’ has been earning them a great deal of attention on both sides of the Atlantic, being played on the radio in their native USA and over here on Radio 1. The quirky yet razor sharp lyrics to their breakthrough hit ‘I’m so L.A.’ coupled with it’s infectious disco beats and boy-girl vocals have also made it a staple in indie clubs all over the place. Though the duo are still currently unsigned they have contributed tracks to the ‘Filthy Little Angels Singles Club ep 5’, a split 7” with Alice and the Enemies.
