Jesus Licks

Biography:

Jesus Licks are: Dominique Golden (vocals/keyboard), Nicholas Clifford (banjo/keyboard), Danny Wootton (guitar), Fay Walsh (cello) and Kate Squires (drums and percussion). We formed in January 2003.

We have just finished our first proper album and will be releasing it soon on Zopf records, which is home of The Peguin Café Orchestra legacy.

For the last couple of years we have been performing regularly on ‘The ‘Hello Goodbye Show’ on ‘Resonance fm’, and at London venues such as ‘The Whitechapel Art Gallery’, ‘The 12 Bar Club’, ‘Tate Britain’ and ‘Short Fuse’ at ‘The Camden’s Head’ in Angel. This year we have gig’s lined up at ‘The Water Rats’ in Kings Cross and ‘The Spitz’ in Spitalfield Market (organised by Stolen Records).

Our music is best described as art folk. We forge raw and melodious music set against dark comedic lyrics: snakes, sharks and bandits lurk at the core of our songs.
