Adventures of Loki
Biography:
Probably Lancaster's most hotly tipped new band. Months of ceaseless gigging around the Lancaster area, plus frequent trips to Leeds and even as far afield as London, coupled with the Shifty Disco download release of their first single 'Feminine Side' (also available as 3 track cd single), has drawn them to the attention of a number of people in the music media, including Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, who played 'Feminine Side' as part of the 'Fresh Meat' section of his show. Loki play music that can best be described as smart riot grrrl influenced punk rock with a hint of Sonic Youth, the sassy boy girl vocals add an interesting twist to their songs and raise them above many of the other punk rock bands around today.

Alice and the Enemies
Biography:
London based girl-fronted 3-piece who make music which has been described as ‘stroppy, saucy, lo-fi songs about love, hate and doing it’. It’s classy guitar music with attitude, calling to mind the playfulness of The Pretenders and the confidenct swagger of PJ Harvey. They have supported the likes of Gin Palace and the wonderful Long Blondes. Filthy Little Angels unerring ear for a fine pop record led them to put a limited number of the bands 4-track demo and to include the band (posthumously) on the FLA Singles Club ep 5 with Mynx. The band have sadly split now, but hopefully will continue to make music in other guises. However, they’ve left us with some great songs, notably the instant classic ‘Touching Boys (In Supermarkets).’
